Handmade in Greece in the sleepy fishing town of Nafplio with local pine wood, each box is lovingly finished to the highest standard by two brothers. The design and manufacture combine cutting-edge CNC technology with traditional boat-building skills.
Gotham Cargo boxes are currently available in two sizes, aptly named Laurel and Hardy. Both share the same platform but Hardy is twice as tall as Laurel. Due to his height, Hardy doesn’t need the buckle-down leather straps. Two bottles of wine lie down perfectly in Laurel, and Hardy can easily handle 14 bottles of beer! We’ve tested the load up to 12.5 kg, which is more than anyone would want to carry on their bike!
Gotham Cargo boxes are easy to fit to any bicycle. The aluminium rods fit to the front fork using the axle of the front wheel, and a separate thick aluminium bracket is added to the brake hole on the fork. It doesn’t matter if the bike doesn’t have a front brake, but it does need a brake hole. This bracket is designed to be bent to allow for slight adjustment so the cargo box sits perfectly horizontal.
